Diaspora Congolaise de Houston (DCH) started when a few of its members gathered back in 2019 with one goal in mind: to bring Congolese people living in Houston together. Although we come from every part of the Republic of Congo with different ethnicities and immigration stories, we love each other, care for one another, and thrive in unity. Since our establishment, we have shared common goals: to provide social help to those of us in need, to promote financial literacy, and to support the next generation's education for a stronger community.
OUR MISSION
DCH's mission is to solve the social problems that Congolese people in Houston face, one step at a time. In addition, we fight to strengthen the Congolese culture and community in Houston. We do that by providing financial assistance to those who need it the most, promoting our members' businesses, and organizing charity galas to not only celebrate our culture but also fundraise for our charity initiatives. .
OUR VISION
DCH's Vision is to provide social and educational change to Congolese in Houston and later on to Congolese around the world. We are working hard to provide financial help and financial literacy to help Congolese thrive and reduce their reliance on assistance, and we are funding their children's education to increase the percentage of educated people in the community to strengthen it. We believe that a brighter Congolese community will start with our love to help each other.

We had our first Christmas party in 2023, where all kids (12 years old or younger) from the community received a toy.

Since getting our tax exemption status back in October 2023, DCH has provided financial assistance to more than 15 Congolese in Houston.
